Since launching, we’ve been on a journey to learn as much as we can about water, and share our knowledge along the way. In the short time since, we’ve dug deep to understand where the Earth’s water comes from, and why not all tap water is created equal. One of the biggest topics at the core of our business is the very product we promote: bottled water.
THERE'S A REASON WHY WE'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE BRANDS WE REPRESENT.
They share our values: bottling only pure, natural water; upholding sustainable practices; operating from a place of integrity; and contributing to charitable efforts when they can. Unfortunately, many bottled water brands don’t share these values, especially when it comes to purity.
Water purity varies dramatically among bottled water brands.
Even something as simple as including the word natural on a bottle of water can be misleading. Many of the world’s biggest brands — including Aquafina (owned by PepsiCo) and Dasani (owned by The Coca-Cola Company) — have admitted that their water comes from tap water, not natural resources. Not to mention, because they bottle and distribute water en masse in plastic, many of these big water brands add contaminants to their waters to offset the plastic taste that permeates their global supplies.
The trickle-down effect is that as consumers, we aren’t drinking water that’s as pure or natural as many of these big brands claim. Instead, we’re drinking a chemically altered version of tap water, priced for mass consumption to turn profits — not protect resources.
TAKE THE TIME TO READ LABELS
The next time you see a flat of big-brand water in your grocery store or wholesale warehouse, pause to consider what’s actually in the bottle. Read the label to learn what, if anything, has been added during the bottling process, and where in the world it was sourced and bottled. While we can’t speak for big-brand waters, we promise we can vouch for our family of fine waters, and will continue to share what we learn along our journey to promote Clean Water For All™.
